1. Install from Shopify
- Open the Recently listing on the Shopify App Store.
- Install on the store you want to connect.
- Approve the requested permissions so Recently can read orders, products, and inventory activity you choose to show.
2. Enable the theme app embed
Recently ships as a theme extension. In the Shopify theme editor, open App embeds and turn on the Recently embed for your live theme. Without the embed, popup and inline blocks have nowhere to render.
Tip: preview on a draft theme first if you want to tune copy and placement before the live storefront sees anything.
3. Place blocks where decisions happen
- Popup — global embed; configure corner, timing, and frequency in the app / theme settings.
- Inline — drop the inline block on product templates near the buy button.
- Web push — enable permission prompts and campaigns from the Recently admin after install.
4. Sanity-check the first event
- Place a test order or trigger a product view on a preview theme.
- Confirm the notification appears with the wording you expect.
- If verification is enabled, open the Verified link and confirm it lands on an event page — see Verification.
Public profile (optional)
In the Recently admin, open Public profile to opt into a store page on recently.cloud, set a public handle, choose whether to appear in the featured directory, and control first-name display on public events.
