What popup notifications do
Popup notifications appear on the storefront at the placement you choose (corners, top center, or bottom center on desktop and mobile) and cycle through recent activity: online store purchases, POS orders, and product reviews. Each card shows a product image, message, relative time, and optionally a Verified link.
Popups are created automatically when qualifying events occur. You do not manually add notifications. You configure which events qualify, how they look, and how often they appear.
Notification list
Open Popup notifications → Popup notifications in the admin to see a paginated list of all notifications. From here you can:
- Edit: change first name, city, state, country, product, price, image, review stars, custom message, or timestamp
- Delete: remove a notification so it never appears on the storefront
- Open detail: full-page edit view for one notification
Edits are useful when you want to redact a name, fix a product image, or remove a notification you do not want shown. The underlying order data in Shopify is unchanged. You are only editing what Recently displays.
Event sources
Which events create notifications is controlled in Settings → Channels:
- Online store orders: purchases from your Shopify checkout
- POS orders: in-person sales via Shopify POS
- Product reviews: reviews from compatible review apps
For orders with multiple line items, you can choose which product appears in the notification: random, lowest value, or highest value.
Verified badge
When Show verified badge is enabled in popup settings and public verification is on, purchase notifications show a Verified link. Shoppers can tap it to open a public event page. See Verification.
